What is happening in the body that causes chest tightness with gerd? ive already had tests to rule out heart problems such as an echo. but have an endoscopy scheduled to see any esophagus issues. just wondering why chest tightness happens. age 18?

The esophagus gets irritated with GERD. It is located in the chest and causes chest tightness, burning, or pain. The treatment for chest pain with a negative cardiac stress test can be treating GERD.
