I've recently been diagnosed with herpes zoster. i emediately tested for hiv, i am negative. could this mean i have a different chronic disease? if so what test need to be performed to check for other chronic diseases?

Herpes zoster : Having herpes zoster means that your immune system was stressed. This can be from numerous issues, we can screen only a few on based lab testing. For the first time in my experience, I have seen many young patients with herpes zoster, probably related to the stress of the pandemic. You should see a doctor in person
