A member asked:

If someone i know is getting 2 molars extracted at age 14, would the wisdom teeth help fill in the gaps from the missing teeth when they come in? they are both 2nd molars one in the top and one the bottom?

Probably: Either there is not enough room for your molars so extractions were necessary, or too many teeth for your jaw size. You should, discuss this with the treating dentist for an accurate answer, however; nature will fill, the gap either by relaxing current teeth or allowing the new teeth to emerge. Keep smiling

Not likely: Upper 3rd molar may drop into 2nd molar spot, but not necessarily well aligned. Lowe 3rd will probably tip forward. What I'm saying is that both wisdom teeth may need to be orthodontically corrected, and that's best case scenario. Implants/crowns may be better solution. Discuss this with both General Den test and Orthodontist.
