As soon as possible!: The studies have shown that Depot Provera does not have any effect on mild production or supply. Women who are postpartum can receive the Depot shot prior to leaving the hospital if they so choose. If there is any concern for milk production you can wait to receive the injection until after your milk supply comes in.
