Over the past year or so i have had spotting for about 3-4 days prior to the onset of my period. also once my period starts ive bleed a little heavier than usual. what could be causing this?

Hormone changes: The change in hormonal status could be causing this. Your doctor can prescribe pills that can limit your period to once every 3-12 months. Take oral iron and multivitamins to prevent anemia from blood loss. Have a healthy diet, exercise 30 minutes/day, drink plenty of water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.
