Oral sex: herpes ?'s: Oral and genital herpes are different immunologic varients, but are both transmitted by genital or oral contact with the virus. If you did not have an actual outbreak, virus is still communicable. Whether oral or genital (Herpes I or II) the transmission of either is possible by saliva via a mucus membrane contact.
