Hi, i was using ginette contraceptives for two years now, i stopped using it for about a week and started again. and all of a sudden i started bleeding. is this normal ? should i continue using it ? or stop ?

BCP ?'s: After cessation of low dose oral bcp's, stopping for "one week" and restarting will not prevent ovulation, hence pregnancy may occur. Sudden onset of bleeding needs to be evaluated by a physician, as pregnancy may occur outside the uterus (ectopic). Obtain a serum HCG test and if positive see a GYN physician immediately for an exam.
