Usually fade on own: Mongolian spots are the rule, rather than exception, in Asians and virtually always fade with time. Do not always fade in same way, thus, as you suspecthis Mongolian spot is disappearing.

Pigment changes: Mongolian spots don't usually fade away or go away. However, the skin surrounding the spot areas tends to get slightly darker each year as there is light and sun exposure. Those areas darkening mean the Mongolian spots are not as contrasted and thus not as visible as time goes by.
