"Late period" ?'s: At age 35, it is not unusual for menstrual delays, as ovulation is necessary about 14 days prior to menstruation (if not pregnant). In one's mid-thirties, stimulation of the ovaries requires more hormone production from the pituitary to create ovulation, thereby delaying onset of menstruation. If pregnancy is possible, obtain a serum HCG test to be certain.
