It can be: If there is no blood in the stool, vomiting, fever, weight loss, travel history, or other associated symptoms, this is unlikely to be a significant problem. Review your diet to see if there is anything new. Sometimes we recommend eliminating one food group at a time (such as dairy) to see if that makes a difference. If any other symptoms occur or not improving, please discuss with your doctor.

How many?: If it is less than three, you are okay. If it is three or more on a regular basis, you should get evaluated by your doctor to rule out malabsorption. If you have lost weight, it is imperative to consult a GI specialist. Wish you good health!
