Can an improperly placed flu shot cause arm or shoulder pain for several weeks after the injection? have had upper arm/shoulder discomfort w/certain movements ever since my flu shot and haven't done anything out of the ordinary to cause the soreness?

Unusual: Flu shot pain should be gone within a few days. Hard to understand how it got complicated. Might wonder about local bleeding/ bruising, or even infection/ abscess. Contact source of injection and discuss your concerns,
