?covid: I would suggest completing the Covid assessment on the Discovery Health website. If you are flagged as potentially having covid, you will be diverted to a virtual online consult with a Doctor. You will be assessed and referred for testing if necessary .
Kind Regards

COVID 19: HealthTap's free, public site is for education. We are not able to provide you with referrals, assessments, diagnoses or treatment on this portion of HealthTap. In South Africa- one consults with a medical provider who will determine need for COVID 19 testing. Consult your local primary care provider or you can use telemedicine for individual consultations.

To stay ahead of the pandemic, should all employees returning from any country with over 25 cases of nCoV self-quarantine before returning to work?

Not necessary: That would be an overreaction to the novel coronavirus (nCoV). Look for guidannce from your local public health department or California Dept of Health. You can rely on their advice.

A 51-year-old female asked:
Do we have any hospital that can test a person for the COV-19?

Dr. Robert Kwok answered

Sure: Tests are only for suspected COVID-19 patients and their contacts. Three months into the global outbreak, the US Centers for Disease Control says state labs will now be able to run tests. Until now, only the main CDC lab was running tests in the US. Any hospital with an ER or intensive care unit should be able to collect the samples (nose swab, sputum, and blood) and send it to the state or CDC.

Limit travel: Travel to most affected countries, China, Italy, South Korea and Iran should be cancelled. Everything else should be cautiously weighed as local regulations may affect activities. Consider being quarantined for at least 2 weeks if the area where living has many cases. (3/7/20)

A 31-year-old female asked:
Hi there Me and my 7year old have flu like symptoms and have been in contact with someone that arrived from New Zealand with an undiagnosed heavy flu. Should I get tested for COVID-19?

Hard to say: New Zealand is definitely lower risk than Europe. Your best bet is to stay home, with masks on (home made) follow hygiene. If you need more help ask another question here. If you have access to testing you could do it but I think we need the tests for folk who are more ill at this stage. Hope this makes sense.

In South Africa a medical provider will determine need for COVID 19 testing. Consult your local primary care provider or you can use telemedicine for individual consultations. There are a number of free apps to look at your risk.
