I have severe pain exactly where my belly button is. what does this mean?

Umbilical hernia ?'s: Pain at the "belly button" is usually a symptom of a hernia in that area, and compression of normal tissue by compromise in blood supply. If this persists, and/or becomes intolerable, to to an ER for an exam, as this can cause severe intestinal injury.
