No: Neurological symptoms like numbness and extremity weakness tend to predominate over pain. Post traumatic syringomyelia can present with pain from a herniated disc or a fracture deformity that caused the syrinx but a de novo syrinx is usually not painful. Make sue you get a contrast MRI to rule out spinal cord tumor.
