A member asked:

I had a small pneumothorax caused by a perforated esophagus, which was caused by excessive and violent throwing up. can i smoke marijuana after this? since the pneumothorax was not caused by damage to the lungs, i was wondering if that changes things?

No smoke exposure: A pneumothorax predisposes you to a recurrence of the pneumothorax. Smoke exposure may cause lung disease which will contribute to the problem .Please avoid smoke exposure. In addition, pleases see GI for follow up and watch for signs of chest pain, shortness of breath and vomiting.
