Seek immediate care.: Some marine ; freshwater catfish can inflict envenomations via a dorsal spines ; pectoral fins. This can lead to significant pain ; inflammation. Treat by immersing area of bite in very hot water. Remove any spines w tweezers. Wound should be cleaned out. Irrigate with fresh water. Prophylactic antibiotics are indicated. Nsaid’s or tylenol (acetaminophen) can be used for pain. If you have not had a tetanus sho.
