Probably low risk: HSV usually is transmitted to other body areas only during the initial infection. If your whitlow (with or without oral or genital herpes) is your first such event, then it might be transmitted elsewhere (especially the eye) any time until it has completely healed, i.e. maybe up to 2-3 weeks. If this is recurrent, there is little risk, but stay on the safe side and keep it away from your eyes.
