I am 41. my last period was on the 11th september, i have been sterilised 7 years ago although i had a suspected missed pregnancy last year. my breasts have been tender, sore and fuller for over a week. what could be causing this?

Pregnancy ??: At age 41, your eggs require more stimulation to ovulate. Higher FSH levels also stimulate higher levels of estrogen and progesterone, which may cause symptoms as described and mimic early pregnancy. If your period is delayed , obtain a serum HCG test to be sure about pregnancy. Ask your gyn physician about low dose bcp's , which will diminish these symptoms.
