Unilateral tinnitus : May cause buzzing in the ear. It may be due to a completely benign or idiopathic condition or due to more serious conditions such as tumors. If constant and/or progressive, these should be brought to the doctors attention promptly. The family doctor or internist often needs the assistance of an ENT and specialized tests to determine the etiology of buzzing sound in the ear.
