A member asked:

Hi, i received a voltaren injection on my left butt cheek 2 months ago. there is no bruising but the areas is still painful to the touch. is this normal or should i be worried?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Gluteal pain: It's unusual to have that amount of tenderness 2 months after a properly administered intramuscular gluteal injection which should be given in the upper outer quadrant of the gluteus maximus muscle to avoid trauma to bones, vessels, nerves. I recommend having a physician examine and advise you. Old hematoma(blood clot), muscle scarring, nerve injury are possibilities. An infection not likely
