A member asked:

Why do periods cause nausea in some women? is it the amount of hormones that their bodies produce? or is it the cramps that cause it? and what can you take to minimize the nausea caused by your period?

Nausea: Probably the major cause for nausea before or during the menstrual period is a hormone called prostaglandin. However, cramping can also cause nausea. Try nibbling on crystalized ginger to reduce nausea.
