Condom use safety: Condoms, when used alone for contraception appropriately, still have a 1 in 5 failure rate due to pinhole leaks or rupture. Once ejaculation occurs continuing intercourse increases the risk of a condom rupture or "slip off" inseminating the partner. Therefore, it is best to stop and remove the used condom right after ejaculation and replace it with another to continue intercourse.
