Mostly not: Worn correctly with sensible precautions, contact lens can be very safe aside from the obvious convenience and potential to correct vision. People who get into trouble are those who fail to follow the instructions and do things like overwear, leaving them in when the eye gets painful or red and not renewing them properly.
