Herpes tests: It depends on the test. A swab test (culture or PCR) from a herpes blister or sore is always accurate if positive; and usually if negative, if the sore is recent , but not after a few days. The blood tests, a year after infection, usually are accurate but not always. They miss some infections and also can be falsely positive. Best discuss result with an expert, e.g. infectious disease specialist.
