Talk with surgeon: I find it hard to believe that the person who operated on you hasn't discussed this and made recommendations. If they said no, then don't search online for an opinion from someone who doesn't really know you.

Very possible : A one level lumbar spine discectomy, especially at a younger age, has a pretty good prognosis. In fact, in many circumstances surgery is the only available for a true cure in many individuals with back problems. Consult your spine surgeon just to be safe and take it easy, regardless of previous lumbar surgery.
