Use pads: This suggests you have never had vaginal sex that would break open your hymen & make tampon use easy.I wouldn't suggest you break it with a tampon. If this is not the case & your vagina is truly small you need to consult a gynecologist. A rare birth defect can occur & only a complete evaluation of its extent could allow an understanding of how to treat it.

See your doctor: You can try a different brand of tampon, such as o.b. without an applicator, which is often easier to maneuver. Additionally, apply vaseline as a lubricant to help put the tampon in. I also recommend you try when you don't have your period; your muscles may be more relaxed then. If still unable, please see your primary care doctor or a gynecologist who can examine you and help you.

Agree with Dr. F: As an alternative, you may just use pads and not use tampons. A water based gel like K-Y jelly may make it easier to insert the tampon. Avoid using Vaseline as a lubricant. Get HPV vaccine. Wish you good health!
