COVID-19: A close contact is defined as any individual who was within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from 2 days before illness until the time the patient is isolated. Testing is recommended for all close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 patients. If testing is not available, asyntomatic close contacts should self-quarantine and be monitored for 14 days after their last exposure

COVID 19: What was exposure like? Were you close to infected person – less than 2 meters? Were you both wearing masks? Did the person appear ill? Sneeze or cough near you? Interaction less than 10 minutes? In a crowded or poorly ventilated room? – (vs being outdoors). Even if answer is “no” to many of these questions, a direct cough or sneeze can get infect you.
