A member asked:

I would like to go off the pill (jasmin plus) which i started taking at 15ish for my skin. i am in a committed relationship and still need birth control, but i do not take the pill as directed. is the implant a viable alternative?

BCP's vs. implant ?: Contraceptive "implants" are progestin derivatives, and while statistically near oral contraceptives in pregnancy protection, your menses may be very irregular, causing some anxiety if your desire to avoid pregnancy is strong. Oral bcps, although more "treatment intensive" are more certain and if taken punctually will not result in breakthrough bleeding, and worth the trouble.
