Yeast infection: Most genital area ("down there") fungal infections are due to yeast, usually Candida albicans. With rare exceptions, vaginal yeast iinfections are uncomfortable but not dangerous. But treatment is easy and inexpensiive, so why not get treated? If the diagnosis isn't certain, see your doctor to confirm what's going on. Good luck.
