Hi drs. i had a surgical abortion 14 weeks ago & havent gone on my period ever since then. ive been on oral birth control (yaz plus). ive been wondering if i should stop as im worried my period hasnt returned. could it be something more serious?

No menses with YAZ?: YAZ Plus is a very low dose formulation of an oral contraceptive and keeps the endometrium (lining of the womb) very thin which may produce only a brown discharge at the end of the pack for a "menses". If you have been taking the medication as directed continuously and if sexually active have negative pregnancy test, your GYN MD probably will not be concerned. Contact him/her for assurance.
