I been birth control for several months.. how many days should my period last on the placebo pills on birth control ? i know theres seven placebo pills. i started bleeding on day 2 and on day 6 of placebo,still bleeding. hope it ends soon.

Taking OCP : The bleeding stops or decrease when you start the active medication. The active medication contains an estrogen analog product which helps to rebuild the lining of the endometrium following menses. Some people may bleed every day times 7 during placebo and others may not. Keep a menstrual calendar and if it appears abnormal discuss with provider. If bleeding heavy call MD, heavy 1pad/hr x4.
