Exam needed: Firstly, a diagnosis is needed. There are various causes of sharp chest pains, some are serious, some are not. Some causes are rib cage injury,inflammation or pinched nerve, pleurisy,pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, pericarditis,pneumothorax. See a physician for evaluation and advice.
