PET Plastic Bottles: Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is the chemical name for polyester used in the manufacturing of the bottle. Some of the chemicals in the bottle can leach into the water bottles, especially in a heated area. These bottles are not designed to use more than one time. Even though the FDA states it is alright for refill, it is probably best to not take a chance of getting exposed to any chemicals.
