Oral contraceptives: It is not at all uncommon for bleeding to be much lighter than normal when women are using oral contraceptives. Urine pregnancy tests (if done properly) are pretty reliable. If a period is coming during the placebo pills and one is not having breakthrough bleeding during the rest of the cycle, one can probably feel fairly confident that she is not pregnant. A blood test would be MOST accurate.
