A member asked:

I have an issue with a recurring herpes infection. this has happened twice after the 1st diagnosis. what can i do to cure it for good?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You don't: The herpes family of viruses is well known for their ability to hibernate for a while and return to the skin surface with a new outbreak. There are antiviral meds you can take to reduce the frequency of outbreaks, but once you get this it is there to stay. There may be hope in the future but for now people just learn to manage it.
