Is it true that the coronavirus is 50 percent more deadly then the spanish flu from 100 years ago and 100 times more deadly then the flu?

Doubt it: Until we have more data to look at it is hard to know. The gloom & doom media certainly want to say such things. However, preliminary data reported this week from Stanford & USC suggests as many as 50 times more patients in those areas had the disease than were previously known. If verified this would drop the case fatality rate to below 0.5%.

Don't think so: I was not able to find any number on actual fatality rates with Spanish Flu. The death rate estimates have varied with COVID 19. But lets say - that there was a 1% death rate -then it would be about ten times more deadly than influenza. Infection / mortality rates estimates have averaged from 1.4 to 5%. But this is based on "reported" data - which may not be accurate.
