Notify obstetrician: In view of abdominal and back pain, I recommend notifying your obstetrician. Mucus in stool can be from irritable bowel syndrome or mild proctitis(inflammation of rectum). If it persists, your obstetrician may refer you to a gastroenterologist if no pregnancy problems are found. Do not take any type of medications without consulting your obstetrician.
