COVID-19 versus flu: The symptoms of influenza and COVID-19 (the current coronavirus epidemic) are similar, but COVID is more likely to be fatal (about 1% of cases for COVID, 10 times more than flu). COVID-19 may cause more frequent long term adverse effects on the heart, lungs, and perhaps other organ systems. All this is being actively researched and these estimates could change. Stay tuned.
