Many causes: Spotting in early pregnancy can have many causes, including vaginal infection, low lying placenta (which often resolved as the pregnancy progresses), or early miscarriage. There is not much you can do if it is an early miscarriage (unfortunately), but probably best to call your doctor to see about getting examined for a source of bleeding
