COVID testing : The test is done by a swab into the nose getting a mucus sample. You should contact your local health department to find out where to get tested. While it would be great to test everyone, the test is not easily available everywhere and may not be needed even if you have COVID 19.

Testing: The CDC recommends a nasopharyngeal swab COVID-19 test. There are also antibody (serological tests) to see if you were previously infected. The CDC has provided guidelines for COVID 19 testing at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/hcp/clinical-criteria.html. However, state & local health departments/ providers make actual testing decisions.
