Basics: Chronic means it has been going on for a while, otherwise not a new issue. Inflammatory just means cells like lymphocytes are there as evidence of the local irritation & swelling. The wording does not specify a cause or treatment. It leaves such issues to the treating doc who ordered the study.

Agree with Dr. F: It means that there was no cancer in the tissue submitted to the pathologist. However, it does not reveal the underlying cause of inflammation.
