Late period: It is common to have an occasional late period or even miss one altogether. Causes include significant stress, sudden weight change, change in diet or exercise, anemia, and thyroid or other hormonal irregularities. Of course pregnancy tops the list, but you said that was not possible. If your periods have always been regular and you miss two, talk to your doctor for further evaluation.
