A member asked:

Can an infection and antibiotics cause my period to start earlier? my last period was on december 28th 2019? i'm having premenstrual symptoms and feel that my period will start soon.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many things possible: A minor infection and typical antibiotic use probably won't cause that, but many things are possible in life. An early menstrual period may be caused by changes in hormone levels, which can be due to anxiety, stress, overworking, intense exercise, fatigue, or excessive weight gain or loss. An Ob-Gyn doctor can check, if symptoms are worrisome or recurrent.
