2 wks 4 days earlier: The standard way to count pregnancy weeks is to presume ovulation and conception was 2 weeks after the "official start" of the pregnancy. Thus, if a woman is 5 weeks pregnant today, her conception (fertilization) is presumed to be 3 weeks ago. Of course, all dates are estimates in a natural pregnancy, and exact dates don't matter in most cases, where a woman is having sex with only her husband.
