A member asked:

My dr said my phosphorus is low and to drink skim milk. if i put chocolate syrup in it does it change the amount of phosphorus in it ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: The milk has an amount of phosphorus. If a person adds a food item into the milk, the resulting drink will have the total phosphorus of the milk plus whatever phosphorus was in the added item. One website says 2 tbsp of Hershey's chocolate syrup has 18.9 mg of phosphorus: https://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/sweets/5596/2
