I'm not certain it's fungus. one toe nail developed a thicker ridge. i filled down the nail hoping to remove the problem area, but no luck.the nail has a white line surrounded by a darker, bruise like color.

Podiatrist or ...: Could be fungus toe nail infection as suggested. Since self care has not been successful seeing a Foot Doctor, (Podiatrist) or the PCP might be a way to resolve the problem professionally.
