HPV is "universal": HPV viruses can be considered to be "everywhere." so we go looking for them only where there is a really good reason based on risk:benefit considerations. Everyone should be vaccinated who qualifies for the vaccine (that solves most of the problem). Then, people at high risk for HPV cancers or warts can get periodic exams. For men, there are visual exams, but not a screening lab test in the US.
