A 19-year-old male asked:
I have a swollen lymph node and that has made me curious if i have any more. i started feeling around my neck and felt a few bumps that were on my trachea. unlike the swollen one, these don't portrude out. am i just feeling a lymph node?

Doctor can evaluate: Swollen lymph nodes in the anterior neck, sometimes without a sore throat, can be strep throat. Other causes of such symptoms include cold and flu viruses, pollen allergies, stomach acid reflux, etc... If it turns out to be strep throat, antibiotics such as amoxicillin are the usual treatment. Cold viruses typically go away in about 5-15 days.
