What's in the ear?: The doctor will want to know what is in the ear. He has to look in the ear. Otherwise, he has to guess what's in the ear... unless another doctor just cleared out the canals. If so, it is presumed that nothing is in the ear canal. In a normal person, without past eardrum disorders, ear pressure is usually due to air pressure or fluid not able to leave through the eustachian tubes in the throat.
