Depends on details: When using birth control pills, if a pill is taken late or is missed completely, there is a mild decrease in pill effectiveness if a single hormone pill, but should be fine if a combination hormone pill, if the missed pill is taken not more than a day late. If unsure, one should add another form of contraception (such as condoms) while finishing the current pack of birth control pills.
